“Patriotism is not just a word; it’s a way of life that binds us in unity and purpose.” With this spirit, we celebrated the 78th Independence Day with a series of events that filled the campus with pride and patriotism. The festivities began with the flag hoisting by the President of Spring Dale Institution, who delivered a powerful message of always putting the nation first. Following the flag hoisting, students from classes II and III showcased their talents with performances of patriotic songs and poems that resonated with love for the nation.
Adding a special touch to the celebration, the tiny tots, dressed as freedom fighters, introduced themselves with pride, embodying the spirit of our national heroes. The day was also marked by creative activities like coloring, drawing, and crafts for students from PG to class III, all centered around the theme of independence. The event concluded with the entire school uniting in a medley of patriotic songs, reminding everyone that ‘True patriotism lies in our commitment to a better and brighter India’; The celebration was a powerful tribute to our nation’s journey of freedom, leaving a lasting impression of unity and pride among the Spring Dale community.

The Indira Nagar branch hosted an impactful Awareness Week as an homage to our visionary founders Sir B.S.Sood and Ma’am Krishna Sood, from July 18 to July 25, centred around the theme “The Fascinating Digital World: Is It All Sunshine”. The week was designed to enlighten students about the benefits and challenges of the digital era through a series of educational and interactive activities.
Activities
For the youngest students in playgroup to class 3, the week included engaging activities such as recitation, drawing, clay modeling, and bookmark making. Each day, a message about the wise use of mobile phones was shared, complemented by movie screenings and the creation of a word wall. Teachers also led discussions with students about responsible mobile phone use.
In the junior wing, students participated in brainstorming sessions, created a word wall detailing the positive and negative impacts of the digital world, and watched short movies. They wrote about their experiences spending a day without mobile phones, crafted argumentative essays, and engaged in creative writing, poster making, and bookmark
crafting. The senior wing’s program featured guest lectures, brainstorming sessions, creative writing exercises, poster making, slogan writing, storytelling, and group presentations. Students also conducted and presented surveys on digital media usage, submitting their reports on the fourth day.
Guest Lectures
The guest lectures were a highlight of the week. Lawyer Manmeet and Amity lecturer Tanya Singh spoke on cybercrime, providing valuable insights into online safety and legal aspects of the digital world. Dr. Siddhant and Dr. Nandini Sharma, addressed parents of Playgroup, Nursery, and KG students, discussing the adverse effects of excessive screen time on young children.
Mr. Maharishi Agnihotri, who has been associated with the 1090 Helpline for 13 years, shared his expertise on cybercrime prevention. His session was followed by a lecture from a social activist and child rights worker, Dr. Swarnima Singh, who further emphasized the importance of digital safety.
Morning Assemblies
Every morning assembly during the week was dedicated to the theme, with teachers and students delivering speeches on the pros and cons of digital media. These sessions aimed to raise awareness and encourage thoughtful discussions among the students.
The week culminated in a group discussion that underscored the dual nature of the digital world, capturing the essence of the theme with the phrase, “The digital world is sunshine but with harmful UV rays, so use the sunscreen”.

Sustainable development is what that meets the needs of the present without depleting the resources for future generations to meet their needs. In other words, the present generation would not deprive the natural world of the resources the future generations would need. Earth Day is an approach in support of such sustainable development and environmental protection which is observed on 22nd April every year since 1970.
To remind us our responsibilities and our commitment towards our mother earth, slogans were spoken and poems were recited as well in the assembly. Class activities were also the very part of Earth Day observance.
