Mr. B.S. Sood and Mrs. Krishna Sood the founders of Spring Dale Institution were great visionaries. They loved children and saw a dream for them.
As a young man Mr. Sood always believed in doing charitable work, he also supported people who took the initiative to open schools. This involvement gradually became his dream – to provide quality education en masses to students belonging to middle & lower income families. To give shape to his dreams he and his wife Mrs. Krishna Sood sowed the seeds on 14th January in 1970 with five children on roll. It was from this humble beginning that Spring Dale Institution grew over the years. Currently there are three full-fledged branches under its flagship.
Between 1970 and 1992 Mr B S Sood succeeded in building three branches of the school in Lucknow. As an avid reader himself Mr. Sood endeavoured to build world class libraries in the school campuses. Even at that time, the scientific laboratories in Spring Dale branches were known for their high class expertise and equipment. After his sudden demise in 1994, Mrs Krishna Sood took the baton in her own hands. Although she had always been actively engaged in the running of the school but in the event of Mr. Sood’s passing away she started giving sole leadership to the institution. Pursuing the dream of giving education to the masses she laid the foundation of the Gomti Nagar Branch. And in order to give better facilities to the Mahanagar Branch, the staff and students were transferred to Gomti Nagar Branch. Mrs. Sood who as a student was a gold medalist herself had the keenness to learn, grow and become confident. This is what she wanted to pass on to the children. She was a woman of substance herself and wished all women to be independent. The evening school ‘Samajik Vidyalaya’ for the under privileged children is an example of her zeal to reach to the masses. It is because of her guidance and dedication that Spring Dale has grown rapidly as an educational institution and emerged as one of the leading schools in the region.
The rigorous curriculum and its comprehensive implementation trains our students aptly and prepares them to make a mark in the outside world. Many of our students have gained admission in top universities and institutes in the fields of medicine, engineering, management, social sciences and liberal arts. Students of Spring dale excel in both academics as well as in the other fields. Every student who enters the institution is not merely trained in academics but we try our best to help students become holistic individuals and help them imbibe the ideals which our founders stood by- hard work, commitment and honesty.
The present members of the management committee comprising Major S. K. Khanna, Mrs. Reeta Khanna, Dr. Atul Sood, Dr. Navsharan Singh and Mrs Sangita Midha are leaving no stone unturned to carry forward the founders’ dream and mission to make the institution reach its zenith.
The Founders firmly believed that ‘The best way to see the future is to create it.’ They dreamt of building an institution to impart quality education reflecting the motto ‘Satyam Vad Dharmam Char’ as a value based system.
The mission of the management along with each staff member at Spring Dale is to carry on the vision of the Founders. We are dedicated to sensitize the children to environmental concerns, the feeling of Nationalism and communal harmony. The institution takes the responsibility to be a facilitator of exploring the potential of the students and make them useful; productive and successful individuals of the society as they are nation builders of tomorrow.
It is their vision and foresight which has brought the institution to the forefront of the educational map of the city.
The future of any country depends upon its students. Adhering to our roots we focus on Progressive Education of 21stCentury. Spring Dale reinforces life values to its students by dedicating each year to a specific value. While all values are continuously imbibed in the students, the specific Value of the year remain a guide for all of us to work on in a holistic manner. It creates a fertile environment relevant in a co-educational school.
Dear Parents,
The management is grateful to our parents, teachers and staff and above all our students for their continued faith in the educational goals that we stand for. It is your support and encouragement that keeps us going. We all realize that education is a foundational building block for achieving nearly every other development goal and for fulfilling the dreams of a nation. Excellence in education can only be achieved if all children, irrespective of caste, creed, income, region, location, get access to good quality education. Only by educating the largest number we can hope to get the best collective achievements.
We are conscious that our efforts at Spring Dale are a mere drop in the ocean in the larger endeavor of the nation to provide education to all. Ultimately, it is the state that has to ensure access to good quality universal elementary education. Right to education is the starting point of this endeavor and much more needs to done to fulfill this dream. We continue to meet our RTE commitments as a part of this responsibility. Along with that we are also striving hard to provide education to others at affordable rates. With the larger thrust towards privatization and marketization costs of basic infrastructure is skyrocketing and the constricted market for jobs is pushing for bringing exclusivity in pedagogy and create branding in education. We are trying our best to tread this delicate balance with the best of our abilities.
Simplicity with quality is our goal and we hope that we can create a benchmark model, in the long run, of how not to corporatize education and yet be self-sufficient. More specifically, every year we tread this balance by improving our infrastructure and by enhancing our pedagogic capacities without too much financial burden on you. We shared with you, last year, things we had done on the infrastructure front, namely power backup; fire safety; environmental safeguards, e-waste management eco-friendly recycling, refurbishment and reuse of electronics; up gradation of labs, use of contemporary software and IT in teaching, regular student-teacher-parent interaction, and in school administration; consolidating security measures and installation of CCTV cameras; creation of professionally approved playing fields at LDA branch; creation of audio-visually equipped class rooms; and creation of fully equipped infirmary with trained staff. We propose to continue working in this direction of improving the infrastructure and additionally focus much more on bringing even greater improvements within the classroom on teaching and learning methods. Our focus will always be to improve teaching learning processes, by holding student and teacher workshops, improving the library and other classroom facilities. We seek your feed back & co-operation to further improve in our endeavours to fulfill this shared vision around elementary education.
