The Education foundation Lucknow was launched in the year 2014 to carry forward the mission and vision of our founders. The foundation strives to achieve excellence in pedagogy, curriculum and growth in the existing system by engaging in research, dialogue and advocacy.
The inaugural convention in 2014 was inaugurated by Professor R.C Sobti – Vice Chancellor of Ambedkar University and the opening lecture was initiated by Professor Vimla Ramachandran – Fellow at National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi,who stressed on the need to have creative classrooms in place of mundane rote learning systems followed in the classes presently.
In the year 2015, Mr. Chandra Shekhar Verma – Director of Resource Management Group conducted a highly motivating behavioral session for teachers of all the three branches on Classroom Management with the aim to help teachers to understand things from a child’s perspective. In the same year, the foundation joined hands with the ‘Mahila Samman Prakosht’– an initiative of Government of Uttar Pradesh to promote the security, dignity and empowerment of women. In this workshop Ms. Sutapa Sanyal- the first woman to become Director General of Police in U.P and Dr. Arvind Chaturvedi – the then Additional Superintendent of UP Police Special Task Force, addressed the students and teachers, making them aware of their rights and how to safeguard oneself from cyber crime. Also the speakers discussed the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
In 2016, Mr. N. Khan- Director National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development sensitized the teachers with challenges of learning disability and mental health issues of children. He also focused on multiple intelligence and learning styles to enhance the potential of students coming from different social and cultural background.
To put emphasis and promote book-reading habits and also to encourage budding authors to pen down their thoughts and imagination, a society called ‘Book Nerds’ were invited for a session in the year 2017. In the same year a health awareness programme –‘Grow Well Shine Well’was conducted by Pediatrician Dr. Ravi Sood and Gynecologist Dr. Meenakshi Sood. In the session – emotional and social issues were discussed.
To start the year 2018, Mr. Simerjeet Singh – a renowned motivational speaker addressed the teachers in a daylong session under the topic ‘Be the Spark’. Later in year, the ‘Red Brigade’ spearheaded by Usha Vishwakarma was also invited to teach girls techniques of self-defense.
Celebrating the Golden Jubilee Year of Spring Dale Institution, a workshop on ‘The Hogan Personality Inventory’ was organized for all the staff members. Ms. Anubha from ‘Three Fish Consulting’ was the resource person for this workshop. It is described normal, or bright-side personality – qualities that describe how we relate to others when we are at our best and gives valuable insight into how people work, how they lead, and how successful they will be. Spring Dale was one of the first school in India to conduct this unique workshop.
In extension to the celebrations for 50th year of Spring Dale Institution, Padamshree Ajay Kumar Sood – a renowned physicist delivered a lecture on the topic “Why do birds flock together”. Dr. Sood spoke about the strength and aligning character of vibrations at various speeds and durations bring out pattern changes. Students of eminent schools of the city were invited to participate in the lecture. He answered several science related queries in such an interesting manner, making it one of the most successful events.
